A new record of loans and grants allocated by FIT in 2021

Once again, the Foundation for Technological Innovation (FIT) has reinforced its support to local innovative start-ups. In 2021, the Foundation is happy to have supported 45 companies for an unprecedented total amount of 6.97 Million Swiss Francs. The year also witnessed the first three IPOs of FIT alumni!

45 companies received support from FIT in 2021, among which 14 Grants, 23 Seed loans and 9 Growth loans – in total CHF 6.97 Million allocated through 46 supports, i.e. 6 supports and 0.9 Million more than in 2020.

Since its creation in 1994, the FIT has now allocated 316 loans and 88 grants to innovative start-ups and entrepreneurs working on launching their company, for a total of over 58 Million Swiss Francs. 2021 was also marked by the success of FIT startups, namely with a record number of 31 FIT-supported companies among the TOP 100 Swiss startups and three first IPOs of FIT alumni: SOPHiA GENETICS, Astrocast and Onward!

With the help of its contributors and partners, FIT plans on renewing its support to talented entrepreneurs with innovative and sustainable projects to grow these into successful companies.
